Artists participating in the 31st São Paulo Biennial have signed an open letter calling on the organizers to return sponsorship funds accepted from the Israeli state, Hyperallergic has learned. The patronage, credited to the Israeli consulate in São Paulo, appears on the sponsor board in the main exhibition space, in official publications, and online, alarming some participating artists who arrived in São Paulo ahead of the September 1 preview. The sponsorship deal was allegedly negotiated after the initial slate of backers was announced; as pictured above, the consular logo appears on a paper taped to the pre-printed board bearing the other sponsors.
In the letter, the artists state that with the Israeli sponsorship, their exhibited work is “undermined and implicitly used for whitewashing Israel’s ongoing aggressions and violation of international law and human rights.” The missive follows an August 20 meeting between objecting artists and the Biennial president, Luis Terepins, who said that the organization would consider the matter, a source close to the discussions told Hyperallergic. When no resolution seemed forthcoming, the open letter was organized. The letter, reproduced below, has 55 signatories as of this writing; the biennial lists 68 participating artists and collectives.
The São Paulo Biennial, opening to the public on September 6, was founded in 1951, making it the second oldest in the world after Venice. The curators for this year’s edition are Charles Esche, Galit Eilat, Nuria Enguita Mayo, Pablo Lafuente, and Oren Sagiv.
The biennial curators and administration were not immediately available for comment.
Update, 8/29 8:30pm ET: The curators of the Sao Paulo Biennial have released a statement in full support of the open letter. We have published this update as a separate post.
Here’s the full text of the letter, along with signatories as of press time:
Open letter to the Fundacão Bienal Sao Paulo,
We, the undersigned artists participating in the 31st Bienal have been suddenly confronted, just as the show is about to open, with the fact that the Fundação Bienal de São Paulo has accepted money from the Israeli state and that the Israeli Consulate logo appears in the Bienal pavilion and on its publications and website.
At a time in which the people of Gaza return to the rubble of their homes, destroyed by the Israeli military we do not feel it is acceptable to receive Israeli cultural sponsorship. In accepting this funding our artistic work displayed in the exhibition is undermined and implicitly used for whitewashing Israel’s on going aggressions and violation of international law and human rights. We reject Israel’s attempt to normalise itself within the context of a major international cultural event in Brazil.
With this statement, we appeal to the Fundação Bienal to refuse this funding and to take action on this matter before the opening of the exhibition.

makes me think of something Israeli professor Ilan Pappé said about
how this conflict started. He said, “When you listen to mainstream
media coverage of the situation in Gaza, you get the impression that
it all starts with an unreasonable launching of rockets into Israel
by Hamas. And two very basic historical kind of backgrounds are being
missed. The very immediate one goes back to June this year, when
Israel decided, by force, to try and demolish Hamas politically in
the West Bank and foil the attempts of the unity government of
Palestine to push forward an international campaign to bring Israel
to justice on the basis of the agenda of human and civil rights.
deeper historical context is the fact that ever since 2005, the Gaza
Strip is being—or people in the Gaza Strip are being incarcerated
as criminals, and their only crime is that they are Palestinians in a
geopolitical location that Israel doesn’t know how to deal with.
And when they elected democratically someone who was vowed to
struggle against this ghettoizing or this siege, Israel reacted with
all its force. So, this sort of wider historical context, that would
explain to people that it is a desperate attempt to get out of the
situation (they are in), is at the heart of the issue, and therefore
it is soluble. One can solve this situation by lifting the siege, by
allowing the people of Gaza to be connected with their brothers and
sisters in the West Bank, and by allowing them to be connected to the
world and not to live under circumstances that no one else in the
world seems to experience at this moment in time.”
not a racist, anti-Semite or self-hating Jew to disagree with Israel,
just a person of morals, a conscience, and compassion.
This kind of ‘verbalism’ provides the illusion of morals, conscience, and compassion… What’s especially important in hitting your qualifier of being perpetually aggrieved against Israel is that it is based on nothing involving facts, truth, or historical literacy.
Ilan Pappe distances himself from invented and fabricated History Of Israel because he recognizes, as a historian who bases his narrative on facts backed by archived and proven facts, the reality that Israeli citizens would love to forget and erase from the international memory, namely, the Holocaust visited onto the Palestinians, the rightful owner of all the land that today the Zionists call Israel, the land theft with the pretext that God had turned into a real estate agent and actually promised Palestine to the squatters and the vigor with which the brutal Zionist movement spreads the hasbara or the spread of lies. We need more informed people to speak the truth.!
The brief history of what really happened is that in 1948, most of the Arabs living in the British Mandate picked up and moved out so that the armies of their Arab brothers could come in and kill all the Jews living there. Rather than sharing the land with Jews they appealed to the judgment of war, and lost. They appealed to the judgment of war again in 1968, and in 1973, and lost East Jerusalem, the West Bank, Golan Heights, Gaza, and the Sinai.
Since 1948, the Arabs that left the British Mandate have been forced to live in camps, rather than being absorbed into their home nations; unlike Israel that absorbed 750,000 Jews expelled from Muslim countries.
In all that time until now those peoples have done nothing but try to kill as many Jews trying to live in peace as they can; AND YOU BLAME ISRAEL FOR DEFENDING HERSELF.
Shawn Chapman, You are spreading a Zionist, criminal, whitewashed narrative of what really happened in Palestine. First of all, the illegal exodus of the Jews to Palestine started during the first World War, the Zionist terrorists, killed many British, Palestinians and Americans as in the case of the Lavone affair in Egypt, jeopardizing the position of the Egyptian Jews who lived there for THOUSANDS of years.
The allies won the war and the Jews of Europe were liberated, they were no longer under any threat. Why did they choose to invade Palestine, which had nothing to do with the killing of the Jews, and why did they kill all these Palestinians, stole their homeland and looted their homes, herded them into concentration camps, tried to efface the very existence of the Palestinians?
Judaism is a religion, why people who believe in Judaism, suddenly became a nation? imagine what would happen if all Muslims became a nation and demanded what is rightfully theirs?
Why in what is left of Palestine, the West Bank is now being populated by squatters who are stealing and appropriating Palestinian land? In your cruel narrative, you forget to mention that the Palestinians, whether in the West Bank or Gaza are, in actual fact, in an open air prison.
If these victims demand justice, rebel against their oppressors, you paint them as the terrorists, when in fact, they are facing the most barbaric occupation in the History of mankind. God bless the Palestinians and give them the strength and resilience to achieve Justice and freedom, in their own country !
It must be inconvenient for you that the UN legally established israel. It must be inconvenient for you that most land in israel was legally purchased with bill of sales. It must be inconvenient for you that Israel defeated the stated aims of genicidal Arab armies to push it into sea. It must be inconvenient that UN resolution 242 calls for israel to have “defensible borders” and NOT give up all the land acquired as a result of beating back Arab forces. It must be inconvenient for you that there is a documented real Hollocaust that murdeted 6 million Jews that you seem to think you can appropriate to label the palestinian state of self inflicted victimhood
It’s nice to live in a delusion and that is what you are peddling. Israel vacated Gaza in 2005. They left the greenhouses intact to allow the Palestinians to flourish economically. Only they elected a gebocidal terrorist organization that vocally and explicitly has as it’s goal the eradication of israel and every single jew. The “seige” or UN recognized legal blockade, Yes legally recognized, was put in place afterward. Israel need not apologize for fighting back against an enemy that would machine gun every last jew on earth. Ilan pape is virulently anti israel. He is so far left he is not even on the map anymore. When artists boycot the one democratic nation state of the jewish people in a region and world where dictators get a free pass you know there is something more going on here. There is a term for it. Holding israel to a standard you hold no one else–anti semitism. Go boycot Qatar, Saudi, Chinese, Iranian, etc funding. Stop beating up on tiny beleaguered Israel bc it successfully has prevented yet again murderous Islamic extremists from defeating her.
If you seek to promulgate the legacy of early Islamic colonialists who raped and pillaged the Middle East, subjugated the indigenous peoples living in the region, and foisted upon them a life of persecution and degradation—you do not get to claim the title of “Freedom Fighter.”
• If you support a racist doctrine of Arab supremacism and wish (as a corollary of that doctrine) to destroy the Jewish state, you do not get to claim that the prejudices you peddle are forms of legitimate “resistance.”
• If your heroes are clerics who sit in Gaza plotting the genocide of a people; who place children on rooftops in the hopes they will get blown to bits; who heap praises upon their fellow gang members when they succeed in murdering Jewish school boys and bombing places of activity where Jews congregate—you do not get to claim that you are some Apollonian advocate of human virtue. You are not.
*If your activities include grieving over the woefully incompetent performance by Hamas rocketeers and the subsequent millions of Jewish souls who are still alive—whose children were not murdered by their rockets; whose limbs were not torn from them; and whose disembowelment did not come into fruition—you do not get to claim that you stand for justice. You categorically do not.
• If your idea of a righteous cause entails targeting and intimidating Jews, arrogating their history of exile-and-return and fashioning lies in your own likeness you do not get to claim that you do so in the name of civil liberty and freedom of expression.
• You do not get to champion regimes that murder, torture, and persecute their own people, deliberately keep them impoverished, and embezzle billions of dollar from them—and claim you are “pro-Arab.” You are not.
• You do not get to champion a system wherein Jews are barred from purchasing land, traveling in certain areas, and living out such an existence merely because they are Jews—and claim that you are promoting equality for all. You do not get to enable that system by pushing a boycott of Jewish owned businesses, shops, and entities—and then claim that you are “against apartheid.” That is evil.
• You do not get to justify the calculated and deliberate bombings, murders of Jewish men, women, and children by referring to such heinous occurrences as part of a noble “uprising” of the oppressed—that is racism. It is evil.
Hey Shawn, I knew you’d comment on this one and always welcome your perspective, but you can’t mention “early Islamic colonialists” without mentioning that the early Israelites also colonized and genocided the indigenous people of the area, for instance read Deut 20:16-18. There is a concise summary of the issue here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bible_and_violence
Thank you Hrag, but I prefer this concise summary of the issue:
Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

u r an imbecile
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works. Psa 14:1
In face of rabid Israeli support for the indiscriminate slaughter of thousands within a mere few weeks, the first question to cross any rational-thinking mind is “How?”.
How is it that a people who were persecuted in Europe for centuries are now inflicting the same measure of horror upon others?
How do you effectively brainwash so many human beings to become incapable of guilt nor humanity?
How is it possible to breed unthinking, uncritical, and unquestioning people whom seek to justify every single act their government pursues?
Worse yet, how do you enslave an entire population into regurgitating completely illogical and constantly conflicting “explanations”?
Israelis have seen the senseless massacre of 2,100 entrapped human beings during the past month (including 89 families completely wiped out), the abduction of more than 18,000 Palestinian children since 2008, and quite literally witness demolition of Arab homes across the West Bank and East Jerusalem on a daily basis. Yet “Operation Protective Edge” remains under popular support by the Israeli public. How?
As a humanitarian first and foremost, I believe in the inherent qualities we all possess as human beings: compassion, kindness, and empathy. Therefore, I can only see Israel’s public reaction (exceptions do of course exist) as a deeply festered psychological disease which either limits or isolates these qualities.
Taking into consideration the outrage which followed the recent death of a four year old Israeli child (caused by a car explosion after Hamas mortar fire), there is evidence of the aforementioned qualities. Thousands of Israelis showered their condolences and presented their grief.
While interviewing these same commentators of grief, I questioned their feelings for the 500+ children killed in Gaza, including a 6 month old baby boy and more than 2,000 wounded. I also asked their opinions on more than 270,000 children in Gaza currently suffering from all sorts of diseases of the body and mind including malnutrition, amputation, and trauma. Their immediate reaction was “Hamas did this”.
I narrowed my question down to the children which were deliberately shot with sniper rifles of IDF soldiers, tank fire at a ten meter range, starvation due to the Israeli blockade, Kenan and Saji El Hallaq (3 and 5 year old brothers), and the four young boys killed by an airstrike on the beach a month ago. The reaction was again “Hamas…”.
I urged these Israelis to at least sympathise with the children’s deaths and stop deflecting in favour of other connotations. The idea was that they could simply wish these children would rest in peace; any innocent dead child, Arab or Israeli, deserves the condolences and well wishes of the entire planet. The response, again, was “Hamas…”.
It seems that the value of life between an Arab child and an Israeli child is so far apart in these peoples’ minds that there is no reconciliation possible. By now I realised that that they were so desensitised towards the killing of Arabs that they would ignore a brutal murder by trying to find an excuse instead to somehow justify Israel’s involvement in it.
Two explanations come to mind.
1) Israel enforces conscription. This makes military service compulsory for all, with the exception of some minority groups. Hence, almost anyone over the age of 18 must spend two years (women) or three years (men) in the IDF. As of the year 2000, more than 3 million women and men are listed as active for military service.
This means that if you are over 21 and could serve, you either have or are imprisoned for refusing to. Considering the average age in Israel is 30, nearly every single person in Israel has been part of the IDF.
Given the barrage of military operations against Palestinians over the past 66 years, nearly every single person in Israel has also had some sort of military role during one or more operations. Thus, logic would suggest that every single person in Israel is somehow connected to the IDF- through family, friend, or neighbour.
Being a former, an active, or related to a member of such a large and overwhelming organisation which practically covers the entire population would realise a stark separation of values to a person’s daily life.
A psychological condition by the name of disinhibition comes into effect.
Disinhibition releases normal behavioural restraints such as self-monitoring, self-awareness, and other long-term norms as well as qualities. Ignoring such norms allows human beings to act on their immediately relevant emotions (be it patriotism, hatred, malice, or revenge) and motivations (territory, security, or vindication) regardless of considerations such as humanity, empathy, or compassion- considerations that usually result as a form of self-awareness.
This condition occurs mainly due to the consistent subconscious reassurance and confidence that you are acting in a group of collectively shared emotions and motivations, therefore there is no risk of reprisal. Self-monitoring becomes unnecessary.
Disinhibition on such a large scale makes it easier for the Israeli public to justify the crimes of Israel as there is a constant feeling of support and loyalty accompanied when such vindication is assumed. The necessity to justify every action the IDF commit is simple mob mentality, where actions higher up the hierarchy easily influence those lower down.
Effectively, when such a control mechanism has been intact for more than sixty years, across three or four generations, every single person in Israel is somehow part of the IDF. Disinhibition becomes a national phenomenon, and self-awareness becomes subsidiary. The population is no longer monitoring their own actions, so it is impossible for them to monitor their government’s. Combine this with relentless propaganda, and you have a population being told how to think, and how to act.
2) Cognitive dissonance. By pure definition, this psychological condition relates to the reluctance in accepting new information when it contradicts information one presumes they already know.
Most of Israel’s public are completely unaware of their ancestry which escaped European persecution to live in peace with Arabs pre-1917, nor are they aware of the existence of Palestine under international law.
There are many instances of uncontroversial fact which is either consciously or imminently neglected by these people. However, when evidence of such fact is communicated to them, it is simply rejected.
No logical reason is given for this rejection, nor does it seem that one is perceptibly necessary from their vantage point. Fact becomes as relevant as fiction to those suffering cognitive dissonance if it does not fit the narrative they have already been ingrained with.
This works particularly well when “fear” is the “information”. Instilling the belief that every Arab (Hamas have been used as a scapegoat in this case) is out to kill Israelis, destroy their families, and wipe out their homeland for example.
Every supporter of Zionism holds this brainwashed notion as a firm belief and any evidence to the contrary is deflected without thought. This subconscious and undercurrent fear becomes relative to every action committed in their daily life.
Arabs become the epitome of evil, even though no aggression whatsoever need be personally experienced by the person holding this irrational “fear”; as a result, preemptive (verbal or physical) attacks are believed necessary under the pretext of security.
Extreme conditions of cognitive dissonance ultimately lead to distress due to the constant inconsistencies bred. This results in depression, other trauma, and could explain why an IDF soldier is five times more likely to die from suicide than on the battlefield.
That’s a very impressive diarrhea. Makes one wonder though what you might sound like if you spoke out of your mouth.
Filthy Fandango, cornered like a rat and has no response other than the diatribe that shows what a low human being he is!
Still waiting for words coming out of the mouth. So far – no cigar.
I cannot teach you manners your parents should have done that. Vile and vulgar Zionist, keep talking below the belt, that is your level! I do not wish to hear from you or other filthy people like you! Ok!
Actually I like it when vermin talks about rats and filth. Straight from Islamo-fascist textbook.
Vermin, Rats, Filth are attributes given to all the Zionists around the world by the majority of people. Sorry you took offense!
Luckily though the great fumigation of Islamonazis and their shills is to begin soon. When I think of all the fresh air the world is going to gain as a result, i get positively giddy.
It goes to show what blood hungry you Zionists are! This is exactly what the Nazis did to the Jews in the gas chambers, obviously you are an advocate of this kind of treatment and you have definitely earned your title of a Nazi/Zionist immoral criminal ! Haven’t you learned that regardless of religion, color and gender we are all equal? You can go on calling whoever whatever you want, it will only show what a degraded person you are..
Allahu Akhbar! Sieg heil!
Nice to meet you. Nice name. And my name is Fandango.
Justine you care nothing for “the poor suffering children” you are gleefully watching israel being dragged through the mud. You will fully put on blinders and act as if israel one day woke up and decided to rampage through Gaza. Have you mentioned Hamas tunnels built under israeli kindergartens? Complete with manuals on how to drug them and kidnap them? Israelis feel no shame nor should they targeting terrorist infrastructure. You can choose to deny reality which is documented that israel targets only sources of fire and not civilians. The fact that so few civilians died in crowded Gaza as a ratio to total deaths is a testament to the fact that israel targets only combatants. Even Al Jazeera documented the statistics. Kind of hard for you to maintain your lies when Al Jazeera and even the Saudi foreign minister blame Hamas for a pointless war. If you were so horrified by civilian deaths you would be screaming every day that Hamas fires rockets at israeli cities whose stated purpose is to kill civilians. The fact is that israel has gotten good at fending off Muslim attacks that anywhere else would have murdered hundreds of thousands . No apology needed. Jews don’t apologize for surviving. We don’t apologize for fighting back and we certainly don’t apologize for winning. You want war? Fine we will give you war ten times more than you ordered until you cry like the whining babies you are. Don’t poke a lion with a stick. Idiots.
Israel definitely did not ” one day wake up and decided to rampage through Gaza”, Israel has been attacking Gaza, pulverizing the most overpopulated area in the world for over seventee years. The tunnels have been dug since the siege of Gaza, seven years ago. In all these years, we have not heard of ONE incident of those tunnels used to drug or kidnap a child or an adult ( Hilarious those manuals left behind! don’t you think ?). Israel cannot claim to be a victim and a ruthless occupier and a colonialist at the same time. Anyone can allege targeting civilians or combatants, but one fact for sure, is the actual dead victims number, here is where no matter what, the Zionist propaganda is put to shame. Your quote from Al Jazeera is a big fat lie, as is your quote from Saudi Arabia, please refer to factual article as in this: http://www.thenational.ae/world/middle-east/saudi-king-criticises-worlds-silence-over-gaza-war-crimes.
You and all who claim defense when all you do is attack, should present truthful facts namely, Palestinians are an occupied people, it is their RIGHT to fight their occupiers and achieve freedom, in their own homeland. We applaud the Jews who fought against their aggressors as in the case of the Warsaw ghettos, where Jews dug( same tunnels as the Gazans) threw Molotov cocktails and detonated home made bombs and launched outdated and primitive rockets, very similar to the ones used by Hamas. Imagine if Hitler’s response was that he is fighting terrorism? What would the like of you have responded to that ?
Three Israeli civilians died during the attacks on Israeli cities. This shows that the brutal holocaust exercised on the Palestinian victims is not justified. No, you would not apologise, you are the thugs in the region. Palestinians,( get it through your thick skull), want their freedom and their homeland back. These are their basic human rights, Hamas won’t have any raison d’etre once these goals are achieved.
As long as they are oppressed and under occupation, they have the right to fight back, hence they are the victims. No one is poking, we both agree, the Barbaric and violent lion, with a silly stick, we both agree on that one too, Palestinians want the end of the Fascist occupation, we both hope for JUSTICE for everyone, and I do hope that we agree on that one too.
You’ve obviously drunk the freedom fighter coolaide. How heroic you make the Palestinians. Problem is the devil is in the details. By free the homeland you mean ethnically cleanse all of israel to make way for another sharia Muslim extremist state. By fight with all means you mean blow up cafés, buses, dig tunnels under kindergartens. Sorry your little freedom fighter story holds no water. The palestinian have signed accords as well commiting them to disarm before any statehood is achieved. Nobody twisted their arms. No one had a right to commit war crimes by shooting rockets into israel, blowing up pizza parlors, buses, etc. Your comparison to the Warsaw ghetto is abhorrent. The people of Gaza while not living in lap of luxury are not starving to death and have latest iPhones. Israel is enforcing a UN sanctioned legal blockade on a terrorist controlled entity. It’s kind of inconvenient for you to acknowledge the details bc it destroys your thesis.
Palestine for over 1500 years was a multi-ethnic and multi-religious place. All monotheist religions were born there, and Jews, Muslims and Christians cohabited for all that time, it all came to an end when the Zionists invaded the land and killed the Palestinians, looted their houses and erased villages to make place for the squatters, and the terrorist gangs like the Stern gang, the Lehi gang, the Hagannah terrorists, the Irgun gangs and the list goes on, all are terrorists who blew the Hotel King David, cafes, buses and terrorised the entire Palestinian civilians, they committed a genocide in Deir Yassin among other genocides.
All the Jews who where in Palestine in or before the 1890’s alongside the Palestinians are the rightful owners of the Land the rest are just squatters. So Israel was formed illegally and by terror. The only war crimes, are the ones committed by the violent Israeli government, who is occupying the land, the resistance to this brutal occupation is nothing but a right for any human. It is not up to you or up to Israel to determine how the Palestinians should live their life, counting their calories intake, restricting their movements, killing their children, bombing hospitals, bombing schools and bombing UN shelters when the Israeli army were informed exactly where those are, stealing more land etc. The Gaza IS NOT a UN sanctioned blockade, as a matter of fact, we only hear Zionists like yourself repeating that they left Gaza, No Israeli has yet admitted what you just did, the illegal blockade on Gaza. I advise you to listen to great decent Jews in order to understand:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_ZiVRedU-4 and also to this great Rabbi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIT9sLz29iQ. Please put your hatred and evil thoughts aside and listen!
You obviously want israel destroyed. You hide behind this fantasy of multicultural Palestine. But you know what? Israel is thriving. Israel is growing. Israel is innovating. Time has moved on. The land of Israel has been reclaimed by the jewish people. Every curse you utter against her, every tactic you take to tear her down has not and will not work. It must be frustrating for anti Semites like you. You can whine all you want. Israel dances on. Enjoy your little pyric victories. Every jewish child born in the land of Israel is our answer to haters like you. Have a nice day.
The only question that arises here is who among the “signatories” of this noxious garbage is Hamas’ useful idiot, or just another useless one.
Everyone who signed this disgusting text, in effect turned himself into Hamas’ human shield.
Ok, I’m really sorry that I didn’t moderate this thread any more. I will be going through and deleting comments that do not fit our guidelines. I thought I could take Labor Day weekend off, but alas.
Israel is dragging itself in mud and rivers of blood!
The horrific images cannot be denied nor justified. Once upon the time the Zionist propaganda and narrative was heard and believed, but with the advent of social media we finally can see the other side. The reality is terrifying and ugly. The claim that the IDF is the most moral army is exposed to be the farce it is.
Israel’s own undoing will come from within. Where do you think those desensitised monsters who kill with cold blood children women and innocent people will end up?
Israel is creating far bigger threat than Hamas right in their midst.
Actually they can be justified. Shoot a rocket from a school or a home you just made yourself a military target according to international law. Best be moving out
It must be upsetting to you that israel can successfully deflect incoming missiles aimed to kill Jews. Yeah no apology forthcoming. This isn’t 1930. You can start a war to kill Jews but know we have learned to fight back. Every time they plan a nakba on israel they bring it on their own heads. It’s called poetic if not actual justice.
Pathetic how you can perceive the plight of an occupied people who have been confined to concentration camps, whether in the 1940s or in the twenty and twenty first century as poetic. Nobody wants to kill the Jews, where did you get that from? The Palestinian people, whether Jews, Christians or Muslims had absolutely nothing to do with the killing of the Jews in Europe.
The Israeli government is not a religious sect, so please get that through your head, it practices a brutal and violent regime like the Nazi regime before it. The Nakbe ( which means a catastrophe) is exactly what all the Palestinians feel, it has been a catastrophe for them because they were punished for what the Nazis did. It is unfair, and any uprising should be welcomed. The Palestinians want their own freedom and peace, every human being is entitled to that. Don’t you think? Just listen to these great Rabbis:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIT9sLz29iQ and Rabbi Weiss, these are wonderful human beings who really want peace on earth.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_ZiVRedU-4
im not watching your propaganda video. nobody wants to kill the jews? I must of misunderstood when I read the hamas charter to exterminate every jew on earth, or when i heard chants of “hitler was right” all over europe last month or the charming” jews to the gas chamber.” or i must have misunderstood when synagogues were attacked in paris by mobs. or it must have been a mistake when islamic extremists killed a rabbi and little girl point blank in Toulouse, or I must not have understood when a masked gunmen shot up a jewish museum in belgium. Maybe I didnt read correctly about the Nazi alliance with Haj amin Husseini the mufti of jerusalem. Maybe I was wrong about all this. or maybe you are a vile anti semite. the good news is the only power you have is to rant on social media while israel grows thrives and prospers. must be hard for you being a Nazi sympathizer living in a world where the jews can defend themselves.
I am not a Nazi or Zionist sympathizer, I just do not approve of a violent and murderous regime. Period ! The criminals will be brought to Justice, and the occupation of the indigenous people will come to an end. Israel cannot continue building walls and ghettoizing its own people. Just listen to these wonderful Rabbis, these are the wise men.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIT9sLz29iQ These are not Hamas you idiot !
You deny the jewish people the right to nationhood. You cannot wish 7 million Jews away from their homeland. The land of israel – Palestine was a part of the Ottoman Empire and British mandate. It was established lawfully by the UN. These are legal facts you deny. I have no problem with people like you or the palestinian Arabs fighting for their freedom. It just strengthens israel and brings destruction on themselves. There will be one winner in this conflict. The jewish people are not going anywhere. Deal with it.
At its height the Ottoman empire included most of southeastern Europe to the gates of Vienna, including modern Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia, Romania, Greece, and Ukraine; Iraq, Syria, Palestine, and Egypt; North Africa as far west as Algeria; and most of the Arabian Peninsula. The British mandate was just that, a mandate. You cannot claim that because Palestine was part of that Ottoman empire that you can steal the land and claim it to be yours. As for the legality of what the UN did, it leaves to desire, since the creation of a colony is in direct opposition of the UN charter. The Palestinians also are going nowhere, the sooner you get it the better, the only difference is that the international community is on their side, and thanks for this kind of blog, and your weak argument that allowed me to present a truthful case. Brazil and the rest of South America are aware of the danger of the spread of Zionism and they can see through your hasbara or spread of lies. Adios ignoramus!
Thee problem with people like you is you dont let facts confuse you.
FACT UN founded israel under LAW and it is BINDING. You lose there.
FACT Israel purchased most of the land you call stolen and has the bill of sales to prove it. You lose again.
FACT there are 7 million jews living in our reclaimed ancient homeland. Come try to remove us. You lose forever.
FACT Israels birthrate is largest in western world and arab worlds is dropping. The constant beheadings, and mass graves and suicide bombings is not helping their cause either. Sucks for you.
FACT an ignoramous is defined as “an ignorant or stupid person”. Im Ivy league educated and in possession of legal facts and dates. You lose again.
Bottom line cry like a baby Israel is growing and thriving. the rest of the Mideast and your dream of creating another islamic terrorist squalid state is dying.
Ignorance is bliss!
Fact the founding of a colonizing power is against UN charter
Fact Israel stole and is still stealing Palestinian land, and they are trying to kill all the descendants of those made refugees by the brutal and barbaric state of Israel. You do not have any bill of sale, It is called land grab in the rest of the world.
Fact Israeli archaeologists turned Palestine upside down and so far not one shred of evidence of any kingdom there.
Fact Palestinians are going nowhere, you can try to kill them, behead them slaughter them but they are going nowhere.
Fact you are a stooge and a poor parrot, no matter what education you claim to have.
Bottom line, Israel is suffering economical hardship and high rate of unemployment, but where I am it is said to be the richest city in the world!
Conclusion : Adios ignoramus !
With people like you supporting the Palestinians I feel confident. You lost all credibility of being of sound mind when you claim there is no jewish archeological evidence there. Seriously? Do you live under a rock? Israel is the most well documented piece of land on earth with archeology, coins, Hebrew texts, buildings, unearthed that show Hebrew names and symbols. Not to mention Christianity sprang from the jewish people who lived there. Another fact–there is NO archeology or documentation of a glorious palestinian people. Kind of inconvenient for you to hear that but you can’t change facts just bc you hate Jews. Sorry about that. It’s rule one of being an intelligent person. Live in your jew hating delusion. We have nothing to worry about from sad uneducated people like you. Go read a history book before you speak. Most libraries are free even in your “richest city in the world” I imagine
I tried to teach you facts but you proved yet again that you are an ignorant person. Why are you asking people to hate the Jews, self respecting Jews have nothing to do with the Zionist ideology. What I do not approve of is the belligerent, violent and immoral Zionist Israeli government. Zionism is not a sect or a religion, it is purely a political movement which is in every way similar to Nazism, with their disregard to humanity and professing superiority of one race over another. It is ugly and vile, and no one could stand barbarism, however you are free to follow Zionism, but please try not to read the invented history of the Jewish people, try the real one, you may be in for a surprise!
