The 2025 McKnight fellows were selected from a group of 144 applicants by a national panel of arts professionals. Jurors were Hương Ngô, interdisciplinary artist and educator, based in Chicago, Illinois and Santa Barbara, California; Alisa Swindell, Associate Curator of Photography, Hood Museum of Art, Dartmouth College; and Claudia Zapata, Associate Curator of Latino Art, Blanton Museum of Art, Texas.

Founded on the belief that Minnesota thrives when its artists thrive, the [McKnight Foundation](https://bit.ly/4kPHAPn?ref=hyperallergic.com)’s arts program is one of the oldest and largest of its kind in the country. Support for working Minnesota artists has been a cornerstone of the program since it began in 1982\. The [McKnight Artist and Cultural Bearer Fellowships Program](https://bit.ly/4kqvo80?ref=hyperallergic.com) provides annual, unrestricted cash awards to outstanding mid-career Minnesota artists in 15 different creative disciplines.
