When I stopped by Urban Rustic today with Hyperallergic editor Hrag Vartanian, we spotted a young woman checking out our debut article in The WG News. (photo by Hrag Vartanian)

In our effort to spread the love of art to all corners of the world, even to those who prefer their news printed and not virtual, we’ve started a monthly column in north Brooklyn’s The WG News titled Off the Wall, which will cover the area’s art world outside of the traditional gallery system.

Our first story, “Indie Art Publishers Rock in North Brooklyn,” speaks to some of the movers and shakers of the local indie art publishing world, and features publishers Birdsong Collective, Booklyn, Brooklyn Arts Press, Burn Books, For the Birds Collective, Pen15 Press and Wild Isle, and bookshops Book Thug Nation, Brian Waves, Desert Island, Spoonbill & Sugartown and Word.

Be sure to pick up a copy of The WG News at various businesses, bookshops and galleries around north Brooklyn.

Veken Gueyikian is publisher of Hyperallergic.
