These are four works that we received this week that grabbed our attention. They are by Bernard Klevickas of Queens, Rainer Zamojre of Germany, Dave LaMorte of New Jersey and Dave Byrd of Brooklyn (whose website I couldn’t find).
Each has created work that stood out from the dozens of entries we’ve received so far. Zamorje’s humor was appreciated — and now we have a whoopie cushion for office pranks! LaMorte’s postcard plays off the kitschy nature of postcards with his continental US shape layered with a brightly colored elements. Byrd’s submission would have been right at home in the envelope post we did last week. Klevickas’s folded work went beyond anything we’ve received to date in that it was beautifully constructed but also sculptural. It was a pleasure to uncover each layer.
Enjoy the latest.
