Don’t miss this special, free President’s Lecture Series at Pratt Institute featuring renowned Brazilian artist and photographer Vik Muniz. A creative visionary whose work is infused with social consciousness, Muniz has been nominated as a Goodwill Ambassador by UNESCO and was the subject of the acclaimed, Oscar-nominated documentary Waste Land (2010). The artist will discuss his life, work, and latest projects with Spencer Bailey, editor-in-chief of Surface magazine. The talk will specifically focus on Muniz’s High Museum of Art retrospective (on view through August 21), including his recent work using electron microscopes.
The event will be held on Monday, May 2, at 6:30pm at Memorial Hall Auditorium on Pratt’s Brooklyn campus (200 Willoughby Avenue).
