It appears this week’s summer heat in New York has impacted the art world, as the Brooklyn Museum just announced it will be closed this weekend because of an “air-conditioning outage.” They blasted out the following note via social media and email:

Because of an air-conditioning outage, the Brooklyn Museum will be closed tomorrow, Friday, July 8 through Sunday, July 10. Our team is working around the clock to replace the damaged systems during this time. All museum collections are being constantly monitored and sensitive materials are being moved to climate controlled spaces.

This means Sunday’s Brooklyn Community Forum on Anti-Gentrification and Displacement will be rescheduled, though a new date has not been set. We’ve reached out to the museum for more information and will update this post when we hear back.
