Elmhurst Art Museum is known for the cornerstone of its collection, the McCormick House by Mies van der Rohe, and for celebrating a wide breadth of styles and practices in their exhibition of both rising and established contemporary artists. For years, EAM has received critical acclaim for their daring and unexpected shows. Now they are celebrating their 20th anniversary with Sense of Place, an adventurous open call juried exhibition exploring how artists experience and express a “sense of place” — personal space, public space, real or imaginary. EAM is looking for multitudinous unique perspectives on this theme in order to commemorate 20 years in their own “place,” their home of Elmhurst, Illinois.
The exhibition will be on display December 10, 2016 through February 12, 2017. All mediums considered. Artwork submitted must have been created since 2014.
Deadline for submission is September 1, 2016.
