Ad Ops Campaign Manager
Hyperallergic is seeking a full-time Ad Operations Campaign Manager to assist our growing team in managing and implementing all of our advertising campaigns.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage advertising insertion orders
  • Create internal production timelines to guide execution of each campaign and ensure timely approvals and launch
  • Set up and manage campaigns in DFP
  • Act as quality check on all creative sent by clients
  • Continuously monitor and optimize campaign delivery and performance
  • Support sales with general day-to-day traffic and inventory inquiries
  • Create campaign reports


  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in digital marketing, advertising, or related field
  • Understanding of digital advertising, ad operations, and serving solutions, especially DFP
  • Strong analytical thinker with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Proactive learner
  • Demonstrate excellent computer skills (particularly Excel)
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • A passion for art and visual culture

Social Media Manager
Hyperallergic is seeking a full-time Social Media Manager to join our growing marketing team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and run Hyperallergic’s social media channels and email newsletters to promote increased engagement, followers, and site referrals
  • Lead creation and scheduling of all social posts on Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, Google+, working closely with editorial to set priorities and timing for post promotion
  • Educate editorial staff on best practices and procedures, acting as last check before publication
  • Create complementary content to go with stories (intro text, GIFs, images, quotes, etc.)
  • Analyze data to inform best practices for each social media audience
  • Manage media partnerships and deliverables including social, newsletter, and banners


  • 2–4 years relevant social media management experience at a publication, agency, or brand
  • Extensive knowledge of social channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, Snapchat, Tumblr (and eagerness to explore new ones)
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • A passion for art and visual culture
  • Fluency in other languages, particularly Spanish, French, Arabic, or Mandarin, is an asset

Associate Editor
Hyperallergic is seeking a full-time editor to join our editorial team. The position will report to our editor-in-chief.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage pitches from writers around the world and present them for feedback at our daily editorial meetings
  • Maintain a professional correspondence with publisher, editors, writers, art professionals, and readers
  • Maintain an active social media presence to engage with commenters and join in conversations about current issues and published content
  • Reach out to new writers and mentor emerging writers eager to write about art for a broad audience
  • Help maintain Hyperallergic’s social media presence as needed
  • Research images for use in articles and on social media platforms
  • Fact-check relevant points to ensure the accuracy of published material
  • Attend relevant art and culture events as a representative of Hyperallergic


  • Strong communication skills, including email and social media
  • Strong understanding of art and culture, particularly material that circulates outside of the mainstream, commercial art world
  • An interest in online writing and an understanding of the online ecosystem for journalism and criticism
  • Fluency in other languages, particularly Spanish, is an asset

Staff Writer
Hyperallergic is seeking a full-time staff writer to provide reporting and commentary on art-related events, news, and activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Write daily articles under the supervision of editorial staff
  • Attend daily editorial meetings to pitch ideas and integrate feedback
  • Maintain a social media presence to engage with readers and fellow art lovers
  • Report on news and other relevant art events as assigned
  • Ability to integrate strong visuals, whether photography, video, or other media, into articles
  • Maintain an active network of sources
  • Attend relevant art and culture events as a representative of Hyperallergic


  • Strong online writing skills
  • Understanding of internet culture
  • Photography skills are an asset
  • Video or audio editing skills are an asset
  • Fluency in other languages, particularly Spanish, is an asset
