A-tisket, a-tasket
I lost my money basket.
I was in my limo
To the White House
And on the way I dropped it,
I dropped it, I dropped it,
And on the way I dropped it.
A stormy girl she picked it up
And put it in her pocket.
I have a little bird
That says tweet-tweet,
I have a little fixer
That says meow-meow —
Shan’t bite you, shan’t bite you,
(Not yet) shall I bite you!
A-tisket, a-tasket
I lost my money basket
I was in my limo
To the White House
And on the way
I lost it
Why did you lose your money? Poetry usually tries to convey human experience through words. These usually evoke images of common experience into which the reader is invited.
Which ‘White House’ were you visiting? Why did you lose your money?
