The Hunter College MFA Program in Studio Art is pleased to announce Part II of the Spring 2018 MFA Thesis Exhibition at 205 Hudson Street, May 17 – June 2, 2018. The exhibition will feature twelve MFA Candidates: Ben Browne, Justin Cloud, Sarah Creagen, Paola Di Tolla, Emily Furr, Carter Johnson, Jule Korneffel, Madhini Nirmal, Russell Perkins, Leonard Reibstein, T. Eliott Mansa, and Andy Van Dinh. The opening reception is May 17th, 6– 9pm. The exhibition will be open seven days a week from 11am–6pm, and is free and open to everyone.
The twelve artists in the exhibition represent an array of art making practices, including painting, sculpture, photography, video, performance, and site-specific installations, covering a range of subjects from the sensual to the political. The exhibition includes an introduction by Joachim Pissarro, Bershad Professor of Art History and Director of the Hunter College Art Galleries. The Hunter College MFA Program in Studio Art is a competitive and affordable three-year program providing a rigorous immersion in the changing ideas and forms of contemporary art. Located in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood, the program offers students the time, space, and an interdisciplinary framework in which to develop their artistic practice.
