They called him amoral, unmoored, and unprincipled.

They recoiled at his authoritarian, impetuous, adversarial, petty, and ineffective acts.

They blinked in disbelief at his daily whims, rants, and half-baked, ill-informed, reckless decisions.

They regarded themselves as the adults in the room.

They whispered together but did nothing.
