Today, join the Art Gallery of Ontario and Hyperallergic at 11 am EST for an hour-long Twitter discussion about public art.
We’re helping lead the conversation about the nature of public art and what it means to us all. Do you have a favorite piece? How about your least favorite? And what exactly does the public want from public art? What do YOU want from public art?
These and many other questions will be discussed via tweet today. So, make sure to follow @AGOToronto, @Hyperallergic and the hashtag #ArtHour to be part of the discussion!
Hyperallergic is delighted to be the first international host of AGO’s #ArtHour. WOOT!
And there’s a special bonus for one lucky person who takes part:
The person who contributes the most to the conversation will win a night for two at a luxury Toronto hotel and a pair of tickets to visit the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto.
I will say that this event with the AGO is particularly poignant for me, as someone who grew up in Toronto and “discovered” art at the AGO. As a teenager, I used to travel to the museum from my home in Etobicoke every weekend to hang out with Rembrandt, Hals, Chardin, Degas, Picasso, Emily Carr, Gorky, Kline, Rothko, Noland and others. AGO will always be a cultural home for me and I hope you can give them some love via tweet! And if you’ve never visited than you definitely should.
