What are the inherent challenges in telling a history that is still being unearthed, and what can media and material objects add to that story? Amid the backdrop of the exhibition for Swann Galleries’ first Pride Sale, co-founder and editor-in-chief of Hyperallergic Hrag Vartanian will moderate this panel with communications industry veteran Cathy Renna and Eduardo Ayala Fuentes of the Leslie-Lohman Museum.

The panel will take place on Monday, June 17 , 6 to 8 pm at Swann Auction Galleries (104 East 25th Street, New York, NY).

Space is limited – RSVP is required.

The Pride Sale offers books, manuscripts, photographs, archives, art, and objects chronicling the lives of luminaries and the history of movements, parades, and protests. Among featured artists and writers are James Baldwin, Gertrude Stein, Oscar Wilde, and Walt Whitman. Highlights include a Peter Hujar portrait of David Wojnarowicz and letters from Harvey Milk.

Can’t make it to the panel? The exhibition is free and open to the public. Exhibition Hours:
