Christie’s Education offers a wide range of continuing education opportunities in New York, London, and Hong Kong, designed to introduce the fundamentals of art, collecting and art business, as well as advanced courses for those with an appetite to study at a deeper level.
The Art Business Certificate is our most comprehensive and intensive continuing education program in New York, designed to provide in-depth knowledge of all aspects of business in today’s art world and introduces students to professionals working in the field. The program offers students the unique opportunity to examine the art world and art-related issues from a variety of view points.
Lectures give access to up-to-date market information and analytical methods, and are enhanced through networking opportunities with esteemed working professionals. The full course schedule runs from September – April consisting of five modules: each made up of five evening sessions, meeting once a week on Wednesdays. Sessions are delivered by leaders in the field, and will provide insights into particular areas of the art world. At the end of each session, questions and further discussion are invited from the student body.
There will also be career advancement workshops to help students with personalized development and a visit to an artist’s foundation, giving participants the opportunity to experience contemporary artists within their working space. Christie’s hosts panel discussions, and the Art Business Certificate students are invited to attend these exclusive events. Completion of all five modules results in the award of a certificate.
