We’re psyched that Hyperallergic is now a Jedi. As proof of our love for the force we invite you to join us on Wednesday, July 21 at 8pm for a special night with John Powers and Luke DuBois, who will making a world premiere presentation at Hyperallergic HQ and screening episodes 2 (robots as peasants) & 4 (abstraction is the force) in the continuing epic that is “Star Wars Modern,” an art work in 14 parts.
That’s right, NOW WE HAVE THE FORCE!
Since we published Zachary A. Cohen’s review “Star Wars and Modernism: An Artist Commentary,” we’ve been dying to host this dynamic duo for a night of Star Wars fabulousness and artistic something-or-other (we’re not entirely sure what to expect but we know it will be awesome).
Conceptualized by sculptor John Powers, the author of the insightful blog Star Wars Modern, the project explores the radical intersection of modernity, modernism, Star Wars, pop culture, and art theory, Powers’s project is a recontextualization of art in the contemporary world. The project is scored by composer Luke DuBois, who will be on hand to answer questions and explain his contribution to the project.

THIS IS A NIGHT NOT TO BE MISSED! RSVP NOW AS SPACE IS VERY LIMITED.
The “Star Wars & Modernism” event is sponsored by Alphabet City Wine, which has generously donated wine for the evening.
Had to give you a heads up about Improv Everywhere’s latest:

It’s StarWars themed.
Love your site.
