I left the country for a week, taking a break from the 24-hour news cycle and its endless political, cultural, and environmental crises. When I came back I found an unfinished drawing with orange hair or orange flames (Washington, DC, or California?), and added some text to make it a New Year’s Card in the hope that 2018 will bring a measure of calm and stability. But for now everything is still on fire.
