Angelenos may finally be recovered from the [recent deluge of art fairs ](https://hyperallergic.com/your-concise-guide-to-los-angeles-frieze-week-2019/)— where homegrown veteran ALAC was joined by [Frieze](https://hyperallergic.com/the-soulful-standouts-amid-the-fanfare-of-frieze-la/), [Felix](https://hyperallergic.com/felix-art-fair-los-angeles-2019/), and [Spring/Break](https://hyperallergic.com/spring-break-art-show-los-angeles-frieze-week/) — but fair season isn’t over yet. This weekend, over 40 artist-run spaces, experimental arts organizations, and independent galleries will set up shop in a decommissioned gun battery at Fort MacArthur in San Pedro for the second annual [Other Places Art Fair](https://opaf.info/?ref=hyperallergic.com). Nestled into a corner of Angels Gate Park, the site offers bucolic green spaces and harbor vistas mixed with abandoned military architecture coated in decades of graffiti — a perfect setting for this gathering of untraditional and hard-to-categorize venues.

Showcasing primarily participants from Southern California, including [Gas.gallery](https://gas.gallery/?ref=hyperallergic.com), [Leroy’s Happy Place](https://www.instagram.com/leroys%5Fhappy%5Fplace/?hl=en&ref=hyperallergic.com), [Scranch](https://www.instagram.com/scranchhideout/?ref=hyperallergic.com), and [ECF Art Centers](https://www.artecf.org/?ref=hyperallergic.com), this year’s lineup will also include [Good Weather](http://goodweathergallery.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com) from Arkansas, [Ekkisens Art Space](https://ekkisens.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com) from Iceland, and [DIS-PLAY](http://dis-play.xyz/?ref=hyperallergic.com) from Germany. In addition to booths and site-specific installations, a performance series will take place throughout the weekend including a plein air painting session with the [Roofless Painters](https://www.rooflesspainters.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com#/), an interactive performance by [Pippa Garner](https://hyperallergic.com/381829/pippa-garner-tinker-tantrum-redling-fine-art-2017/) presented by [California Carts](https://cart.life/?ref=hyperallergic.com), and a closing flag lowering ceremony from [Harborview and Pole](http://harborviewandpole.org/?ref=hyperallergic.com) with a reading by [Steve Kado](https://stevekado.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com).
