So what I’m saying is that we throw an excellent Halloween party, and you ought to come to this year’s. Mark your calendars: [Wednesday, October 28](https://hyperallergic.com/hyperallergic-halloween-october-2026/) — and wear your best costume, because we’ll be holding a competition, and we might just [write an article about it](https://hyperallergic.com/the-best-costumes-from-hyperallergic-halloween-party-2025/). (Also, yes, there’s an open bar.) *Hyperallergic* members get half off on tickets. Join us. Elsewhere in New York are Ridikkuluz’s can’t-miss paintings: George W. Bush choking on a shoe, painting a possessed poodle is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s a moving — at times, devastating — exhibition that combines queer and SWANA symbols to hold the pain and horror of Israel’s oppression of Palestinians. If you can’t make *Hyperallergic* Halloween for reasons of being located on the opposite coast (we’ll forgive you), check out Matt Stromberg’s great list of what to see around Los Angeles this month. But between this fall’s booths at Frieze London and Art Basel Paris, a detour to Venice, and micromanaging your unpaid interns, you can only go for a day. So, tragically, there’s no time to fit in your regular visit to Erewhon, for which there’s simply no New York equivalent, especially because the $36,000 initiation fee for the Kith Ivy padel club that houses the city’s only Erewhon tonic bar is prohibitive in this art market. I’m sure she was influenced by her husband’s painting, and by other AbEx artists, but her work seems personal, and very strong.
