The [Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts](http://bit.ly/2JbEHHT?ref=hyperallergic.com) at [Washington University in St. Louis](http://bit.ly/2PXW8y8?ref=hyperallergic.com) offers a robust, two-year program that invites students to consider their roles as artists within social and political contexts. Our [MFA in Visual Art program](http://bit.ly/2PhLeXb?ref=hyperallergic.com) is ranked 12th in the nation by U.S News & World Report and features lectures and workshops with prominent visitors, including Shimon Attie, Dave Hullfish Bailey, Hasan Elahi, Coco Fusco, and Wangechi Mutu.

Our students engage disciplines across Washington University, a tier-one research institution, such as social work, philosophy-neuroscience-psychology, women and gender studies, and environmental studies.

In fall 2019, our graduate students will move into studio spaces in [Weil Hall](http://bit.ly/2OK5SQi?ref=hyperallergic.com), a new 82,000-square-foot facility, designed by KieranTimberlake.

**Summer in Berlin & Venice**  
The [Sommerakademie in Berlin](http://bit.ly/2SaBtIV?ref=hyperallergic.com) explores the political conditions of the city as a historical, national, and contemporary global site. The program culminates at the Venice Biennale.
