Carol Bebelle, the director of the Ashé Cultural Centre and co-chair of the New Orleans Mayor’s committee for racial reconciliation told *The* *Art Newspaper* that artists may be invited to [appropriate](http://www.theartnewspaper.com/news/news/158220/?ref=hyperallergic.com) the city’s confederate monuments. “We have unedited monuments and we’re looking at a range of things we can do to essentially alter the power the monuments have, existing the way they do.” Kenjiro Sano, the designer whose studio was [accused](https://hyperallergic.com/crimes-of-the-art-24/) of plagiarizing its design for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games logo, is [facing](http://ajw.asahi.com/article/behind%5Fnews/social%5Faffairs/AJ201508190071?ref=hyperallergic.com) more accusations of plagiarism. Nagoya Zoo, a client of Sano’s studio, called for an investigation after discovering that a design for its logo is similar to one used by the National Museum of Costa Rica. The Vatican Museums [launched](http://www.artnews.com/2015/08/17/vatican-museums-introduces-crowdfunding-app/?ref=hyperallergic.com) Patrum, a crowdfunding app that encourages users to donate money toward specific restoration projects.
