Among the $1 billion Cubist art gift that Leonard A. Lauder made to the Metropolitan Museum of Art this year are 14 pieces by Fernand Léger, [**one of which went on display this week**](http://www.metmuseum.org/about-the-museum/press-room/news/2013/lauder-leger-announcement?ref=hyperallergic.com). The exhibition of the whole Leonard A. Lauder Cubist Collection will open next October.

A branch of the Andy Warhol Museum[**may be arriving on the Lower East Side**](http://www.complex.com/art-design/2013/09/warhol-museum-new-york-lower-east-side?ref=hyperallergic.com), *Complex* reported.

The Broad announced that the new museum, set to open in 2014 with art from the collection of Eli and Edythe Broad, [**will have free admission**](http://www.thebroad.org/press/130917%5FThe%5FBroad%5Ffree%5Fadmission.pdf?ref=hyperallergic.com). Broad also stated that he’s [**not going to be continuing his annual $3 million donation**](http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/arts/culture/la-et-cm-broad-moca-20130918,0,2044338.story?ref=hyperallergic.com) to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) [**granted $450,000 to the Dallas Museum of Art to research its free membership model**](http://www.resnicowschroeder.com/media.asp?id=3052&ref=hyperallergic.com) and expand it through a relationship with the Denver Art Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and Minneapolis Institute of Arts. This was part of the [**$30 million in federal grants that IMLS made**](http://www.imls.gov/imls%5Fawards%5Fnearly%5F30%5Fmillion%5Fin%5Ffederal%5Fgrants%5Fto%5Fmuseums%5Facross%5Fthe%5Fus.aspx?ref=hyperallergic.com) to museums around the country.

In a case involving wire fraud, money laundering, and the forging of over 60 works including Pollock and Rothko paintings, [**Glafira Rosales has pleaded guilty**](http://galleristny.com/2013/09/glafira-rosales-pleads-guilty-in-knoedler-forgery-case/?ref=hyperallergic.com).

The former director of El Museo del Barrio’s gender discrimination case against the museum[ **was dismissed**](http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/09/17/discrimination-claim-against-el-museo-del-barrio-is-dismissed/?ref=hyperallergic.com).
