The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation[**is being sued by seven descendants of Peggy Guggenheim**](http://www.artmediaagency.com/en/82960/peggy-guggenheims-family-files-lawsuit-against-solomon-r-guggenheim-foundation/?ref=hyperallergic.com)**,** who state that the conditions of her bequest are not being honored. They cite alterations to her Venetian palazzo as well as the management of artworks.

The [**Shabolovka radio tower in Moscow is under threat of demolition**](http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/17/arts/design/an-engineering-landmark-faces-demolition-in-moscow.html?%5Fr=0&ref=hyperallergic.com) after the Russian State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting consented to its destruction. Architects are attempting to stop the dismantling of the striking 50-story latticed steel structure designed by Vladimir Shukhov and completed in 1922.

Italian police [**have reopened the investigation into the theft of Gustav Klimt’s “Portrait of a Woman”**](http://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2014/mar/16/gustav-klimt-theft-italy-portrait-of-a-woman?ref=hyperallergic.com) (1916–17). The painting was stolen 17 years ago from the Ricci-Oddi gallery in Piacenza, Italy, and investigators are now using DNA tests to attempt to match a suspect.

Three artists who left the board of the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles in July 2012 — Barbara Kruger, John Baldessari, and Catherine Opie — [**are returning**](http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/arts/culture/la-et-cm-former-moca-board-members-return-20140318,0,7517676.story?ref=hyperallergic.com#axzz2wQ8ikHpm). The fourth artist who left, Ed Ruscha, will not rejoin, and will be replaced by artist Mark Grotjahn.

The Henie Onstad Arts Center in Norway[**is returning Matisse’s “Woman in Blue in Front of a Fireplace”**](http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/03/21/norwegian-museum-to-return-matisse-looted-from-french-art-dealer-by-the-nazis/?ref=hyperallergic.com) (1937), which was looted by the Nazis from a Parisian art dealer.

An altarpiece in a Danish church by artist Emil Nolde [**was stolen**](http://www.artlyst.com/articles/emil-nolde-church-altarpiece-worth-1m-stolen-in-denmark?ref=hyperallergic.com).

The [**Washington, DC Christian Science church is being demolished**](http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/demolition-of-christian-science-church-in-downtown-dc-progresses/2014/03/10/7d970bc6-a8b3-11e3-b61e-8051b8b52d06%5Fstory.html?ref=hyperallergic.com). The structure was the subject of a long struggle, as preservationists hoped to save it as an example of 1960s Brutalist architecture.

Prehistoric remains dating back two million years [**were found near the Los Angeles County Museum of Art**](http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2014/3/15/la-subway-dig-yieldsiceagefossils.html?ref=hyperallergic.com). The fossils were discovered in a preliminary examination of the site aimed at expanding a subway line.

Online music streaming service Pandora scored a victory in federal court when a judge [**ruled that they don’t have to adjust their royalty payments**](http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/15/business/media/judge-refuses-to-alter-pandoras-payments-to-songwriters.html?partner=rss&emc=rss&smid=tw-nytimes&ref=hyperallergic.com).

The Scott Polar Research Institute at Cambridge University[**is attempting to acquire the recently discovered set of 113 negatives**](http://www.spri.cam.ac.uk/museum/appeals/scottnegatives/?ref=hyperallergic.com) taken in the Antarctic in 1911 by Robert Falcon Scott, in order to keep them from going into private collections and being split up.

Rembrandt’s painting “Child with a Soap Bubble,” which was stolen in 1999 from a museum in Draguignan, France, [**was recovered in Nice**](http://www.artlyst.com/articles/rembrandt-painting-stolen-in-1999-from-french-museum-recovered?ref=hyperallergic.com).

Buckminster Fuller’s Dome House[ **is opening on April 19 as a free museum**](http://www.upi.com/Science%5FNews/2014/03/19/Buckminster-Fullers-house-worlds-first-geodesic-dome-home-to-be-restored-preserved/3191395260185/?ref=hyperallergic.com) in Illinois.

St. Mark’s Bookshop[**is raising funds on Indiegogo to move into a new East Village location**](http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/st-mark-s-bookshop-on-the-move?ref=hyperallergic.com), where it will be reimagined as a nonprofit event space. Scott Schaefer, who retired as a curator at the J. The[**Richard Meier Model Museum is opening at Mana Contemporary**](http://archinect.com/firms/release/4912/new-richard-meier-model-museum-opens-at-mana-contemporary/95928798?ref=hyperallergic.com) in Jersey City. The facility is designed by and dedicated to the architect’s work, with model and sculpture exhibition areas and a library.

Jack Shainman Gallery [**is expanding into a former elementary school**](http://www.jackshainman.com/school/?ref=hyperallergic.com) in Kinderhook, New York. Called “The School,” this new facility will house the gallery collection and special exhibitions.

Gagosian Gallery [**will open its 14th branch worldwide, a new space on the Upper East Side**](http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/21/arts/design/a-collector-changes-course.html?ref=design), as well as a pop-up gallery on the Lower East Side.

Oxford University researchers[**are attempting to find the lost tomb of Egyptologist Francis Llewellyn Griffith**](http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/yourtown/oxford/11088321.The%5Fstrange%5Fmystery%5Fof%5Fthe%5FEgyptologist%5F%5F%5Fs%5Fmissing%5Ftomb/?ref=hyperallergic.com), whose gravestone from 1934 has gone missing.
