A lab technician accidentally [destroyed](http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/art/news/worlds-smallest-sculpture-no-bigger-than-ants-head-accidentally-crushed-by-photographer-10101461.html?ref=hyperallergic.com) Jonty Hurwitz’s “Trust,” one of the world’s smallest sculptures.

A federal judge [dismissed](http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/03/07/us-haring-lawsuit-idUSKBN0M301020150307?ref=hyperallergic.com) a $40 million lawsuit against the Keith Haring Foundation. A group of collectors alleged that the Foundation rejected the authenticity of around 80 works after refusing to examine additional evidence regarding their provenance.

The Sacramento City Council unanimously [approved](http://www.sacbee.com/news/local/news-columns-blogs/city-beat/article13150619.html?ref=hyperallergic.com) an $8 million contract for a new public sculpture by Jeff Koons. The proposal was fiercely opposed by a number of local artists.

On Friday afternoon a fire [broke out](http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-31879724?ref=hyperallergic.com) inside South London’s Battersea Arts Centre.

Opponents of George Lucas’s planned museum in Chicago achieved an early court victory Thursday, when a federal judge [ruled](http://chicago.suntimes.com/chicago-politics/7/71/435854/friends-park-score-early-win-lawsuit-lucas-museum-project?ref=hyperallergic.com) that their lawsuit against the Lucas Museum project could proceed.

An archaeological survey determined that around 90 oil paintings and 8,000 books were [destroyed](http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/home-news/revealed-the-full-toll-of-the-disastrous-glasgow-school-of-art-fire.120531459?ref=hyperallergic.com) during last May’s fire at the Glasgow School of Art.

The teacher’s account was blocked after he posted an image of Gustave Courbet’s “L’Origine du monde” (“The Origin of the World”) (1866).

Pilar Abel, a 58-year-old Spanish woman, has [filed](http://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2015/mar/13/spanish-woman-court-salvador-dali-daughter-pilar-abel?ref=hyperallergic.com) a court complaint against the heirs of Salvador Dalí, the artist’s foundation, and Spain’s tax office and public administration, alleging that she is the late Surrealist’s daughter.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art [selected](http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/03/11/metropolitan-museum-of-art-names-an-architect-for-its-new-wing/?%5Fr=0&ref=hyperallergic.com) David Chipperfield to design its new modern and contemporary art wing.

San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors [approved](http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2015/03/10/lease-approved-for-mexican-museum-to-house-over-18000-pieces-of-art-in-san-francisco/?ref=hyperallergic.com) a plan to build the Smithsonian-affiliated Mexican Museum in the city’s Yerba Buena neighborhood. The project is expected to break ground in July and open its doors in the spring of 2018.

London’s National Gallery [banned](http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-31829535?ref=hyperallergic.com) selfie sticks.
