Xavier de Jarcy and Francois Chaslin, authors of two new books about Le Corbusier, [documented links](http://www.businessinsider.com/afp-le-corbusier-legacy-threatened-by-fascist-revelations-2015-4?ref=hyperallergic.com) between the architect and the collaborationist Vichy regime. The writers also uncovered Le Corbusier’s authorship of anti-semitic statements and drawings, and his close association with Pierre Winter, the head of France’s Revolutionary Fascist Party.

Jasper Johns’s former studio assistant, James Meyer, was [sentenced](http://www.courant.com/news/connecticut/hc-jasper-johns-theft-sentence-0424-20150423-story.html?ref=hyperallergic.com) to 18 months in prison for stealing and selling the artist’s works. Meyer, who worked with Johns for over 25 years, must pay $13 million in restitution and forfeit $3.9 million.

Christo [plans to create](http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/04/22/new-christo-work-to-temporarily-bridge-italys-lake-iseo/?ref=hyperallergic.com) a floating walkway around Lake Iseo in Italy next year. The artist has so far raised €10 million ($11 million) for the project, which is entitled “The Floating Piers.”

A group of researchers [plan to virtually restore](http://cordis.europa.eu/news/rcn/122604%5Fen.html?ref=hyperallergic.com) the artifacts damaged by ISIS at Iraq’s Mosul Museum. It’s hoped that the digital reconstruction of the museum’s collection will aid efforts to track down and identify looted items. Federal agents [recovered](http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Dozens-of-Pieces-of-Lost-WPA-Art-Found-in-California-300716101.html?ref=hyperallergic.com) 122 of an estimated 100,000 missing works of art funded by the WPA (Works Progress Administration). The pieces were discovered in a storage space in the Grand Avenue Branch of the South San Francisco Public Library.

Daniel Maclise’s 13-x-13-meter drawing of the meeting between the Duke of Wellington and Field Marshal Blücher at the Battle of Waterloo was [restored](http://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2015/apr/21/epic-battle-of-waterloo-drawing-restored-for-display-to-mark-bicentenary?ref=hyperallergic.com) in advance of the battle’s bicentenary (June 18). The 1858 cartoon, which took over a year to complete, was last displayed in 1972.

Workers at London’s National Gallery are [striking](http://www.theartnewspaper.com/news/museums/154529/?ref=hyperallergic.com) today and next Friday as part of an ongoing showdown over plans to privatize visitor services. Ernest Magliato will ask the Italian American Museum to [return a donation](https://www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20150420/little-italy/family-plans-take-back-museum-donation-over-eviction-of-italian-grandma?ref=hyperallergic.com) in protest of the institution’s decision to evict an 85-year-old woman from her apartment as part of an expansion plan.

The Toledo Museum of Art [went “off the grid.”](http://www.toledonewsnow.com/story/22419916/toledo-museum-goes-off-the-grid-with-solar-energy?ref=hyperallergic.com) The museum is now completely powered by solar energy.

Blum & Poe is [aiming to obtain](http://www.artnews.com/2015/04/20/blum-poe-plans-to-go-carbon-neutral-by-2016/?ref=hyperallergic.com) carbon neutral status by 2016.

According to a [report](http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/04/20/online-art-buying-rises-in-new-market-report/?ref=hyperallergic.com) by the British insurance firm Hiscox, online sales of art rose to $2.64 billion in 2014 (4.8% of the value of the global art market), up from $1.57 billion the previous year.

The Cleveland Museum of Art [entered into discussions](http://www.cleveland.com/arts/index.ssf/2015/04/cleveland%5Fmuseum%5Fof%5Fart%5Fsays%5Fi.html?ref=hyperallergic.com) with the Cambodian government regarding a 10th-century statue of the Hindu god Hanuman in its collection. Cambodian officials have previously stated that the work was looted from the Prasat Chen temple.

New York City’s Museum of Sex was [charged](http://nypost.com/2015/04/20/museum-of-sex-hasnt-paid-sales-tax-in-4-years-hit-with-82k-lien/?ref=hyperallergic.com) $82,192 lien for failing to pay sales tax since 2011.

Joseph Goeddeke, an employee of Michigan’s Department of Environmental Quality, [discovered](http://www.metrotimes.com/Blogs/archives/2015/04/23/trip-out-on-these-satanic-drawings-found-in-an-abandoned-detroit-house?ref=hyperallergic.com) a cache of satanic drawings inside an abandoned Detroit home.

According to a [report](http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-32379991?ref=hyperallergic.com) by The Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society, the top 5% of authors earned 42% of the income received by writers in 2013\. The report also states that writers earned 29% less in 2013 than in 2005.

The Center for Art on Migration Politics (Camp), an exhibition space dedicated to asylum and migration issues, [opened](http://www.theartnewspaper.com/news/news/154604/?ref=hyperallergic.com) in Copenhagen.

Sculptor Conrad Shawcross [unveiled](http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-32334959?ref=hyperallergic.com) a new work in London’s Dulwich Park. Made of cheap metal, the work was commissioned to replace a piece by Barbara Hepworth stolen in 2011.

Wu-Tang Clan’s GZA (aka Gary Grice) will [discuss](http://www.charlotteobserver.com/entertainment/music-news-reviews/article19203627.html?ref=hyperallergic.com) art and physics in an upcoming lecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

A “museum” dedicated to figure-skating rivals Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan [opened](http://gothamist.com/2015/04/18/photos%5Finside%5Fwilliamsburgs%5Ftonya%5Fh.php?ref=hyperallergic.com#photo-1) in Williamsburg. Curated by comedians Viviana Olen and Matt Harkins, the museum — which raised $2,036 on Kickstarter — is installed in the hallway of their apartment.

Stefan Edlis and Gael Neeson [donated](https://hereandnow.wbur.org/2015/04/23/art-institute-chicago-donation?ref=hyperallergic.com) 42 works to the Art Institute of Chicago, the largest gift in the museum’s history.

The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation [donated](http://www.artnews.com/2015/04/22/mits-center-for-art-science-technology-receives-1-5-m-gift-from-mellon-foundation/?ref=hyperallergic.com) $1.5 million to MIT’s Center for Art, Science & Technology.

The Renwick Gallery in Washington, DC — the first public building in the US designed for displaying art — will [reopen](http://www.architecturaldigest.com/blogs/daily/2015/04/renwick-gallery-reopens-november-13?ref=hyperallergic.com) in November following a two-year, $30 million renovation.
