# Art on Paper Returns to Downtown Manhattan's Pier 36 March 5–8, 2020

[Art on Paper](http://bit.ly/32uHLsw?ref=hyperallergic.com) returns to downtown Manhattan’s Pier 36 this March 5–8, with ninety-five galleries featuring top modern and contemporary paper-based art. Art on Paper’s medium-driven focus lends itself to significant projects — unique moments that have set the fair apart and established it as an important destination for the arts in New York City. Art on Paper demonstrates the diversity of its medium with significant projects exploring, expanding, and re-imagining what a work on paper can be.

The **FLATFILES focus** section highlights independent print dealers and publishers from across the country.

Art on Paper’s public projects will return with large-scale installations that push the boundaries of work on paper. This year’s special projects include:

**Maser | Presented by Tandem Press**  
Maser will create a 3d immerse space with a variety of different sized postage/storage tubes (that will have his artwork pattern applied to them). Whoever buys a work at the art fair will get their piece shipped to them within a tube that has come from the installation.

**Edgar Heap of Birds | Presented by GalleryFritz**   
Artworks of Hock E Aye VI Edgar Heap of Birds address Native American history and settler colonialism, while advocating for indigenous communities and the freedom to live within a tribal circle as an expressive individual.

**Karen Margolis, Scorched | Presented by K. Imperial Fine Art**  
Working with maps of cities throughout the world, the artist explores the changing landscape of both our physical and internal worlds through the arbitrariness of loss and destruction.
