# CalArts’s MFA Creative Writing Program Fosters Experimentation and Freedom

CalArts’s [MFA Creative Writing Program](https://bit.ly/3kfTEdX?ref=hyperallergic.com), a two-year master’s degree dedicated to fostering the experimental impulse, is seeking applicants for [Fall 2021](https://bit.ly/37mYlPq?ref=hyperallergic.com). Designed for writers and artists who want to push beyond traditional boundaries and discover new modes of expression through language, this non-tracking program allows its students total freedom to study across genre and form.

Established in 1994 by cultural critic Dick Hebdige and poet/theorist Jon Wagner, CalArts’s MFA Creative Writing Program has been a bastion of unapologetically adventurous writing since its inception.
