# Call for Entries: The World of Frida at Bedford Gallery

The Bedford Gallery is currently accepting artwork submissions for their summer exhibition, [*The World of* *Frida*](http://bit.ly/2ugN0OQ?ref=hyperallergic.com), which celebrates the culture, style, and persona of visionary painter Frida Kahlo. The exhibition will feature art with Frida as the subject as well as artworks inspired by her life and art, including themes of Frida’s garden, Mexican culture and fashion, vibrant colors, surrealism, and more. Artwork submitted should be completed pieces or concepts for installations.

[*The World of Frida*](http://bit.ly/2ugN0OQ?ref=hyperallergic.com) weaves juried and invitational shows that reference the artist, partnered with a national traveling photography exhibition, titled *Frida Kahlo: Through the Lens of Nickolas Muray*, which features 46 vintage photographs of Frida. The opening reception will include a Frida Fashion Show and look-alike contest where all are welcome to participate. Exhibition dates are July 8 – September 16, 2018.

$3,000 in cash awards, plus prizes, will be awarded to selected artists in the juried exhibition. Open to all artists 18 years or older and all media. Jurors include [Lisa Congdon](http://bit.ly/2HZvIYE?ref=hyperallergic.com), fine artist, illustrator, and author, and Rebecca Gomez, Curator of Exhibitions & Programs, [Mexic-Arte Museum](http://bit.ly/2HZeHh6?ref=hyperallergic.com), Austin, TX.
