Colorado State University.

The Department of Art and Art History at Colorado State University invites applications for 2019–2020 admission to [the three-year MFA program](http://bit.ly/2Sh8Xo6?ref=hyperallergic.com), specifically in the areas of Painting, Printmaking, Graphic Design, Drawing, Sculpture, Fibers, and Metalsmithing/Jewelry.

The MFA program at CSU is a competitive interdisciplinary studio-based program that allows students to work closely with an outstanding faculty from across media and specializations. Our [faculty are actively engaged artists and scholars](http://bit.ly/2E797LH?ref=hyperallergic.com) who present and exhibit their research nationally and internationally.

CSU’s Department of Art and Art History offers the advantages of a fine art school with the added benefit of being directly connected to the vast resources available at a Tier-1 research institution.

**Studio Environment**

- MFA students from each area of specialization are allowed 24-hour access to semi-private studio space for discipline-specific research while working together within a larger interdisciplinary community.
- The Department of Art and Art History houses [communal state-of-the-art facilities](http://bit.ly/2E5QLLe?ref=hyperallergic.com) including CNC milling machines, laser cutters, and 3D fabrication capabilities accessible to all graduate students.

**Community**

- Our tightly-knit community and low student-to-faculty ratio allow for continual mentorship and guidance throughout our three-year program.
- MFA students are encouraged to take elective courses in a range of disciplines external to the Department of Art and Art History, including but not limited to: biomedical sciences, engineering, business, geology, and more. [Explore fields of study for elective courses](http://bit.ly/2KIvhVj?ref=hyperallergic.com).

**Teaching Experience**

- Most, if not all, MFA candidates are offered the opportunity to teach their own stand-alone classes based on their area of expertise, which provides tuition remission and a stipend.
