# Columbia University’s MFA in Visual Arts + Sound Art

Applications are now being accepted for the MFA Visual Arts and Sound Art Programs at [Columbia University School of the Arts](https://bit.ly/3DyaznU?ref=hyperallergic.com).

The interdisciplinary [Visual Arts Program](https://bit.ly/3gEe0QV?ref=hyperallergic.com) offers an MFA degree in Visual Arts rather than in one specific medium. The two-year studio program, taught by internationally celebrated artists, allows students to pursue expanded practice | sculpture, moving image, painting, photography, and printmaking.

The [MFA Sound ArtProgram](https://bit.ly/3DbAznQ?ref=hyperallergic.com) — offered in association with the Visual Arts program, the Department of Music, and the Computer Music Center — allows students the opportunity to pursue creative work in a variety of genresand focus on the integration of soundwith other media.

[MFA Open Studios](https://bit.ly/3Fiyqt6?ref=hyperallergic.com) will take place on Sunday, November 13, 2–5pm (ET) at Prentis Hall following the Visual Arts Information Session. Featuring the Class of 2023, get a preview of the upcoming thesis exhibition, view works in progress, and meet the artists. Open Studios are free and open to the public. All guests entering the building must show proof of vaccination.
