# Jim Woodring, Ariel Schrag, and Julie Doucet Among Headliners at Comic Arts Brooklyn

On Sunday, November 11, [Comic Arts Brooklyn](http://comicartsbrooklyn.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com#featured-list) (CAB) will return to the [Pratt Institute](https://www.pratt.edu/events/event/14158/?ref=hyperallergic.com). CAB is a festival featuring interviews and panels with artists and publishers, along with comic art exhibitors and book sales. The event will take place in Pratt’s Activities Resource Center (ARC) building in collaboration with comic book store [Desert Island](http://desertislandbrooklyn.com/about.html?ref=hyperallergic.com).

According to the [event organziers](https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8YBgfdHmQlhc0hBWjMwcjJnVTJhU0QyWm1lV05kSFJaSF9r/view?ref=hyperallergic.com), “This year’s show celebrates and highlights the surreal stories of cartoonist Jim Woodring, the autobiographical work of cartoonist and writer Ariel Schrag, and the influential underground comics of Canadian artist Julie Doucet.”

Curated by Gabe Fowler of Desert Island and Matthew James-Wilson of *FORGE. Art Magazine*, the event aims to “amplify historically unheard voices in comics and art.” In addition, Woodring will be leading a session on drawing with his custom-made seven-foot dip pen, and interviews with Woodring, Schrag, and Doucet will take place throughout the day.
