# Four Feminist Latinx Artists Bring Their Body-Based Performances to the Broad

Curated by [Nao Bustamante](http://www.naobustamante.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com) and [Xandra Ibarra](http://www.xandraibarra.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com), [*En Cuatro Patas*](https://thebroad.org/programs/series/en-cuatro-patas?ref=hyperallergic.com) (“on all fours”) is a four-part performance and video series featuring the work of feminist Latinx artists who explore the politicized, abject, bestial, and trans-human nature of the body. This Thursday’s program will include artists from Latin America and the US who will take advantage of the museum’s unique architectural setting for their performances.

Uruguayan-born, Brooklyn-based choreographer [luciana achugar](http://www.lachugar.org/?ref=hyperallergic.com) will activate the lobby with *FEELingpleasuresatisfactioncelebrationholyFORM*, a dance performance for four women which plays between formalist movement and a celebration of the instinctual and carnal. Vocalist [Carmina Escobar](https://carminaescobar.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com), who splits her time between Mexico City and Los Angeles, will fill the third floor galleries with her unique bird-like vocal manipulations, giving the impression of animal life infiltrating the space.

Meanwhile a screening of short films by Joiri Minaya, Xandra Ibarra + Rob Fatal, Mickey Negron, and others will take place in the Oculus Hall. These include Peruvian artist [Amapola Prada](http://amapolaprada.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com)‘s “(Ex)Pulsiones,” in which a woman dressed in a typical schoolgirl’s uniform acts out the role of a bull tied to a cowshed, and [evidence](https://www.artforum.com/video/julie-tolentino-and-abigail-severance-evidence-2014-49333?ref=hyperallergic.com) (2014) by Julie Tolentino + Abigail Severance, in which Tolentino enacts a body-based memorial for those lost to AIDS.
