We are hungry for evidence of what lies beneath the canonical re-telling of histories.

[*Hungry Is My Favourite Word*](https://bit.ly/3u6WNXz?ref=hyperallergic.com) at the Július Koller Society in Bratislava, Slovakia, invites viewers to fantasize about the past, future, and present by asking the question: How can we relate to obscured pasts in which marginalized existences have been neglected? Weaving together references to historical role models, fleeting gestures, recent pop-culture moments, and contemporary visual culture, the exhibition aims to create a constantly evolving emotional landscape where there is no one truth, no one answer, and no last word. Curated by Nora-Swantje Almes and featuring work by Ebun Sodipo, Luki Essender, and Miriam Kongstad, the show hopes to spark thoughts on constellations and relationality by critically interrogating what is visible and what is absent, and what lives on in our collective memories.

*Hungry Is My Favourite Word* is on view through May 26 at the [Július Koller Society](https://bit.ly/3SeAIOF?ref=hyperallergic.com), open Wednesdays and Fridays from 1 to 6pm (CET).

As part of the curatorial project *Hungry Is My Favourite Word*, an event series was conceived in collaboration with Katarina Slezakova (JKS). These events are intended to bring communities together to explore the Július Koller Society’s potential to become a more inclusive and sustainable art institution. “Inclusive Curatorial Strategies” — a thematic line in the collaborative project [Islands of Kinship](https://bit.ly/47P5ZgX?ref=hyperallergic.com) — are emphasized through this project.

What to look for in the following months?
