# Graffiti Writer "Bombs" Brooklyn Bridge

Graff blog [12oz Prophet](http://www.12ozprophet.com/news/lewy-crushes-the-brooklyn%5Fbridge-harder-than-ever-before?ref=hyperallergic.com) calls it “one of the most legendary spots in the history of graffiti,” so when Lewy BTM got up — 119-feet up, to be exact — on New York’s Brooklyn Bridge on Tuesday night it definitely attracted attention.

The graffiti, according to [Gothamist](http://gothamist.com/2012/06/28/brooklyn%5Fbridge%5Ftagged%5Ffor%5Ftime%5Fin.php?ref=hyperallergic.com), got promptly buffed, but Animal NY called the Department of Transportation to [confirm](http://www.animalnewyork.com/2012/brooklyn-bridge-bombed-for-the-first-time-in-over-a-decade/?ref=hyperallergic.com) that this was indeed real and not a case of Photoshop. It’s worth noting that the Brooklyn Bridge is a National Historic Landmark, so don’t be surprised if the FBI get involved in this case.

Love it or hate it, you have to at least appreciate Lewy’s sense of symmetry.
