# Step Inside a Lunar Eclipse

Those of us still dealing with [eclipse](https://hyperallergic.com/howard-russell-butler-eclipse-paintings/) withdrawal after missing this summer’s [solar spectacular](https://www.space.com/33797-total-solar-eclipse-2017-guide.html?ref=hyperallergic.com) might find some solace in exploring [*Lunar Eclipse*](http://roulette.org/event/re-lunar-eclipse/?ref=hyperallergic.com), an evening-long performance and projection taking place at Roulette on Wednesday, October 4\. The immersive and interactive installation, by Brooklyn collective RE — a group of six Thai and American visual artists and musicians — will be projected onto the inside of an inflatable dome, which attendees can explore at their leisure, watching the shifting and kaleidoscopic images from outside or within the translucent structure.

As the projections shift in waves of color and form that alternate from abstract to recognizable imagery, live piano, guitar, saxophone, percussion, and more will provide aural accompaniment to the visual spectacle. The spacey performance will culminate in a stylized rendering of a lunar eclipse projected onto the inflatable dome, meaning you will simultaneously be beneath the moon and over it.
