Samantha Beverly (aka [@kalofos](http://twitter.com/kalofos?ref=hyperallergic.com)) has created the funniest example of mail art that has arrived at Hyperallergic HQ yet. In her contribution to the **Mail Art Bulletin**, Beverly has transformed the greatest piece of contemporary spam — the [West African email scam](http://www.snopes.com/fraud/advancefee/nigeria.asp?ref=hyperallergic.com) — into a hand-drawn scroll complete with crest and tassled string.

Produced on a delicate (and possibly handmade) paper, she has given the fly-by-night announcement that ends up in every spam folder a sense of importance and beauty.

Her crest designates the object as “official mail art” and includes a version of the [Great Seal of the United States](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great%5FSeal%5Fof%5Fthe%5FUnited%5FStates?ref=hyperallergic.com) to highlight the absurdity of it all.

We love it.
