# Mail Art Bulletin: Fear of Flying

There’s art designed to be “mail art” and then there’s art that is sent via mail and inadvertently becomes mail art in the process. Lynn Aquaheart of Conway, Arkansas, mailed us what appears to be a commentary on mail art, a piece consisting of a small canvas in an envelope covered with objects (and an animal) that fly. Inside was a small canvas painted light blue and covered with an inspiring message … it brought a smile to our faces.

Aquaheart (a quick Google search showed) is the one behind the short-lived [Art Bananas](http://artbananas.blogspot.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com) blog but you can also find her on [Etsy](http://www.etsy.com/shop/LynnAquaheart?ref=hyperallergic.com), where she sells bracelets and pendants of all kinds (the [Super Mario Bros. mushroom charm bracelet](http://www.etsy.com/listing/41473127/super-mario-bros-mushroom-bracelet?ref=hyperallergic.com) is pretty cool, though the [Day of the Dead earrings](http://www.etsy.com/listing/59417747/sugar-skull-earrings-day-of-the-dead?ref=hyperallergic.com) are a close second). As someone who makes work designed to be mailed to people’s homes, Aquaheart has probably thought a lot about what it must be like for her work to be flying around the world into the homes of strangers.
