Located in downtown New York City, the program takes advantage of the incredible cultural resources of the East Village, Chelsea, and greater metropolitan area.

A Master’s program in Art, Education, and Community Practice is offered, as well as three teacher certification programs:

- **33-credit Initial Certification MA program** – For aspiring teachers, this track leads to eligibility for New York state initial certification as a teacher of Visual Art, all grades (K-12). The program begins in the Summer semester and can be completed in as little as 12 months as a full-time student or in two years as a part-time student.
- **30-credit Professional Certification MA program** – For teachers who already have their initial certification, this track provides the credit hours and coursework necessary for the New York State Professional Certificate as a teacher of Visual Art, all grades (K-12). The program can be started in the Summer or Fall semester, and can be completed in as little as 12 months as a full-time student. Part-time study is also available.
- **44-credit Dual Certification MA program in Teaching Art and Social Studies** – For aspiring teachers, this track leads to initial certification as a teacher of Visual Art, all grades (K-12) and Social Studies (grades 7-12). Students are involved in integrated learning opportunities that re-imagine both art and social studies education. The program begins in the Summer semester and can be completed in as little as 12 months as a full-time student. The program can also be completed as a part-time student in two years.
