# Meet the Newest Members of UConn’s Graduate Studio Art Program

Meet the newest class of the “best kept secret” MFA Studio Art program in the country, [UConn’s graduate studio art program](http://bit.ly/2wkJtLc?ref=hyperallergic.com). Working in a broad range of art making including painting/drawing, sculpture, photography/video, printmaking, and installation/performance, the class features:

[**Olivia Baldwin**](http://bit.ly/2xg7UO4?ref=hyperallergic.com)  
Baldwin received her BFA in painting and photography and BA in English-Creative Writing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has lived, worked, and exhibited in Italy, Austria and throughout the United States. Baldwin co-founded Milkweed Community Art Space, and co-directs and co-curates DUSKLIT Interactive Art Bazaar.

[**Elizabeth Ellenwood**](http://bit.ly/2wVP7Hk?ref=hyperallergic.com)  
Ellenwood received a BFA in photography from the New Hampshire Institute of Art. She has been included in solo and group exhibitions, and was recently featured in Art New England Magazine (March/April 2017) for her solo exhibition *These Times & Shapes* at the Sharon Arts Center.

[**Shadia Heenan**](http://bit.ly/2w2b20u?ref=hyperallergic.com)[](http://art.uconn.edu/2017/04/20/shadia-heenan/?ref=hyperallergic.com)Heenan received a Bachelor in Fine Arts from the Hite Art Institute at the University of Louisville. Her work explores concepts of identity through subjective experience in being a Muslim, a hybrid, and adaptive movement across circumstance. Heenan employs a mixture of media including digital and alternative process photography, video, performance, and installation.

[**Jordan Thuman**](http://bit.ly/2jjoeIn?ref=hyperallergic.com)[](http://www.jordanthuman.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com)Thuman is a painter who focuses on narratives that include multiple figures in interior settings. She has a fascination with the more subtle nuances of gesture and expression that occur as people interact with each other.

[**Chad Uehlein**](http://bit.ly/2gWTSLg?ref=hyperallergic.com)[](http://art.uconn.edu/2017/04/20/chad-uehlein/?ref=hyperallergic.com)Uehlein received a BFA in Printmaking from the University of Akron’s Myers School of Art. When Chad isn’t in the print shop carving woodblocks or working on letterpress, he is experimenting with process and teaching himself digital skills like 3D modeling and animation.
