Although the exhibition focuses on his illustrations for others rather than his own books, it’s still a strange trip. In a different vein, the 8th Floor gallery examines the multifaceted ways that artists represent landscapes while the Museum of the Moving Image explores the world of Lu Yang with an exhibition that can be experienced as a film or an interactive game. And a survey of sculptures by Reverend Joyce McDonald suffuses the Bronx Museum with a sense of serenity and purpose. The artist-run Tempest Gallery in Queens is hosting a group textile exhibition that takes on climate change and cultural identity. That one ends this coming weekend, so get there soon.
