Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian celebrates American Indian Heritage Month with an online [Native Cinema Showcase](https://s.si.edu/40rC10w?ref=hyperallergic.com) Nov. 17–24, 2023\. Featuring eight days of online screenings, the program includes 35 films (six features, 29 shorts) representing 22 Native nations in six countries: U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, and Colombia. There are 14 Indigenous languages spoken in the films. All screenings are free; the full schedule is available on the showcase website.

This year’s showcase highlights films of Indigenous perseverance that inspire, uplift, and triumph against adversity—stories that prevail against the judicial system, generational trauma and cultural appropriation through love and complex relationships, self-worth and humor. Genres include documentaries, music videos, kid-friendly shorts, films in Indigenous languages and more.

All films are free to watch and are available for streaming, worldwide and on demand with the exception of T*he Legend of Molly Johnson*, *Powerlands* and *We Are Still Here*, which are limited to viewing in the United States. The full schedule, including information about geographic restrictions, is available [online](https://s.si.edu/40rC10w?ref=hyperallergic.com).

The National Museum of the American Indian’s Native Cinema Showcase is funded in part by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.

The showcase is streaming [online](https://s.si.edu/40rC10w?ref=hyperallergic.com), on-demand from Friday, November 17 through Friday, November 24.
