Since March of 2019, Hyperallergic has offered this monthly resource for artists and creatives to share their work and find new opportunities. **The a**rts and culture **sector** ha**s** since been severely impacted by the [COVID-19 crisis](https://hyperallergic.com/tag/covid-19/), **making** grants and paid opportunities for independent artists and cultural organizations more important than ever.

- **Gumbo Magazine** is accepting pitches across mediums (writing, comics, visual art, podcasts, etc.) for its upcoming digital zine in response to COVID-19, with the theme of Afrofuturism. - Photographers can submit to *Vantage Point Sharjah 8* (VPS8), an annual initiative by the **Sharjah Art Foundation**.
