# Films About Bosch and Hockney Among OVID’s New Additions in April 2020

[OVID](https://ovid.tv/?ref=hyperallergic.com), one of the premier streaming sites for independent and arthouse film, has added a terrific slate of new titles for April, including a number of movies of interest to art lovers everywhere. Documentaries about [David Hockney](https://ovid.tv/details/%5F6134379360001?ref=hyperallergic.com), [Pablo Picasso and Michael Sima](https://ovid.tv/details/%5F5314296777001?ref=hyperallergic.com), and [Hieronymus Bosch](https://ovid.tv/details/%5F6134374408001?ref=hyperallergic.com) join ones about [Pina Bausch](https://ovid.tv/details/%5F5989727732001?ref=hyperallergic.com), [Roy DeCarava](https://ovid.tv/details/%5F5098978888001?ref=hyperallergic.com), [H.R. Giger](https://ovid.tv/details/%5F5843024891001?ref=hyperallergic.com), and more.

Further, programmers from Harlem’s [Maysles Documentary Center](https://www.maysles.org/?ref=hyperallergic.com) have teamed up with the site to curate [a special selection of films](https://ovid.tv/page/maysles?ref=hyperallergic.com), which includes works by Chris Marker, Chantal Akerman, Jean Rouch, Cheryl Dunye, Kazuhiro Soda, and John Akmofrah, among others.

The platform has also made a new content partner: [dGenerate Films](https://www.dgeneratefilms.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com), a distribution company which specializes in independent Chinese cinema. [Their programming](https://ovid.tv/page/dgenerate?ref=hyperallergic.com) includes many titles which not only can’t be streamed anywhere else, but some which never even received a proper theatrical release in the states. Films from dGenerate now available on OVID include several works from director [Wang Bing](https://hyperallergic.com/454855/the-banality-of-capitalism-in-china/) and the delightful mother/daughter comedy [*Girls Always Happy*](https://ovid.tv/details/%5F6120679041001?ref=hyperallergic.com). Producer Karin Chien will be hosting a Facebook Live event on Chinese independent film on [OVID’s page](https://www.facebook.com/OVIDtv/) on Thursday, April 9, at 1:00 pm EST.
