Jackson Pollock's "Untitled" (c.1944-45) is a drypoint and engraving in black on white wove paper. Inscribed "2nd proof 1967" among other things. (all images via Swann)

We [posted](https://hyperallergic.com/atelier-17-abstract-expressionism-new-york-school/) about the Abstract Expressionist print auction last week at Swann Auction House in New York and today we learn that Jackson Pollock’s “Untitled” (c.1944-45), set a print record for the artist.

According to [Swann](http://swanngalleriesinc.blogspot.com/2011/10/records-for-pollock-whistler-rembrant.html?ref=hyperallergic.com):

> A posthumously produced Jackson Pollock drypoint and engraving, “Untitled,” circa 1944-45, one of two proofs prior to an edition of 50 printed for the MoMA, New York, 1967, set a record for *any* print by Pollock sold at auction. Bringing $102,000, it was the top lot across both sale days.
