Organized by [Veggie Cloud](http://cargocollective.com/veggiecloud?ref=hyperallergic.com)‘s Courtney Stephens and Kate Wolf, and KJ Relth of the [UCLA Film and Television Archive](https://www.cinema.ucla.edu/?ref=hyperallergic.com), *Subject: Los Angeles* is a series of four programs that aims to grapple with popular LA mythologies. The final event, [Subject: Los Angeles on Shifting Ground](http://www.bobbakermarionettetheater.com/subject-los-angeles-on-shifting-ground?ref=hyperallergic.com), looks at LA as a city in constant flux, with its focus on constant reinvention, sense of historical amnesia, and the ever-present threat of natural disasters.

The evening will include a screening of “Get Out of the Car” (2010), a short city symphony by cinematic chronicler of Los Angeles, Thom Andersen, who will introduce the film, as well as footage of riots and earthquakes captured by legendary helicopter pilot and journalist [Zoey Tur](https://twitter.com/zoeytur?lang=en&ref=hyperallergic.com). [Maria Maea](http://mariamaea.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com) and [Micaela Tobin](http://www.micaelatobin.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com) will embody a history of urban trauma and violence through their live performance of sound and movement. And, since it’s all taking place at the historic [Bob Baker Marionette Theater](http://www.bobbakermarionettetheater.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com), there will be puppets.
