Every year, artists, writers, curators, and nerdy teens alike converge at MoMA PS1 for what’s become a New York art world tradition: Printed Matter’s annual [New York Art Book Fair](https://hyperallergic.com/tag/ny-art-book-fair/). Akin to an espresso shot for the body and mind, the three-day event typically features hundreds of exhibitors from around the world — including small presses, individual artists, and galleries — along with performances, talks, and plenty of opportunities for absurd people watching. It’s as exhilarating as it is overwhelming.

Perhaps luckily for those who have always been crowd-averse, this year the fair will return virtually, shifting from its normal fall schedule to February andpermitting access to its robust slate of exhibitors and programs from the comfort of your own home, wherever in the world that may be. Promising “a new fair for a new time,” Printed Matter Virtual Art Book Fair (PMVABF) will spread its events over five days, giving attendees more time to browse the extensive selection. As organizers explain in the press release, PMVABF “will gather the greatest number of exhibitors to date, offering a dynamic web platform to encounter work by hundreds of participating artists and publishers, a full schedule of programs, and opportunities for the public to engage with exhibitors.”
