It’s finally happening: just in time for Valentine’s Day, the “Gnome Chomsky” garden gnome is experiencing a much-deserved surge in popularity. Because really, what better way to express affection for your loved ones than by buying them punny, philosophy-related lawn ornaments? The [Gnome Chomsky Garden Noam](http://www.justsaygnome.net/gnome-chomsky-i---additional-views.html?ref=hyperallergic.com) takes as its inspiration MIT professor [Noam Chomsky](http://www.chomsky.info/?ref=hyperallergic.com), renowned linguistic, activist, and public intellectual.

Chomsky’s gnome doppelganger, a product of the cleverly-named garden gnome manufacturing company [Just Say Gnome](http://www.justsaygnome.net/?ref=hyperallergic.com), comes in two variations. The first stands at 17 inches and holds two books, *The Manufacture of Compost* and *Hedgerows and Hegemony*, that express Chomsky’s left-leaning (or left-lawning?) tendencies, according to the [Just Say Gnome website](http://www.justsaygnome.net/gnomes-noams--oms---products---ordering.html?ref=hyperallergic.com). The second is a foot tall and comes outfitted with its own formidable stack of books. At $95 and $75 respectively (add $100 to both prices if you want your Noam gnomes painted), the statues are a bargain. It’s never been more affordable to extend your anarcho-syndicalism to your yard!

On the Just Say Gnome website, gnome-maker Steve Herrington writes that a recent spike in [attention](http://www.avclub.com/article/now-you-can-buy-noam-chomsky-garden-gnome-214027?ref=hyperallergic.com) on the internet has led to a resurgence in Garden Noam production. “I am currently a bit backlogged with orders (at least for another few weeks) but I’m doing my best to get more cast and painted ASAP so please do let me know if you are interested,” he wrote last month.
