# Check Out Artists’ Studios in South Brooklyn, from Red Hook to Bay Ridge

Brooklyn’s biggest open studio events tend to be clustered in the borough’s north and central neighborhoods, from [Bushwick](https://hyperallergic.com/tag/bushwick-open-studios/) and [Greenpoint](https://hyperallergic.com/tag/greenpoint-open-studios/) to [Gowanus](https://hyperallergic.com/tag/gowanus-open-studios/) and [Dumbo](https://hyperallergic.com/dumbo-open-studios-2018/). But what of the vast studio complexes due south? This weekend, nine studio and exhibition spaces stretching from Red Hook to Sunset Park and Bay Ridge will open their doors to the public for [South Brooklyn Open Studios](http://www.trestlegallery.org/sbos?ref=hyperallergic.com).

Participating spaces include mainstays like [Trestle](http://www.trestlegallery.org/?ref=hyperallergic.com), [Tabla Rasa Gallery](http://tablarasagallery.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com), and [Pioneer Works](https://pioneerworks.org/?ref=hyperallergic.com), labyrinthine studio complexes like [TI Art Studios](http://www.tiartstudios.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com), and comparative newcomers like [Stand4](http://standconnect.com/?ref=hyperallergic.com). Just [counting](https://www.facebook.com/events/114049276123056/) Trestle’s three spaces and the TI Art Studios, there will be more than 80 artists opening up their spaces to show (and sell) their work, so be sure to budget plenty of time and pack some snacks. And the itinerant, pop-up prone art organization [Chashama](https://chashama.org/?ref=hyperallergic.com) will offer guided tours of its Sunset Park spaces. As ever with such sprawling events, the most rewarding experiences often await in the most distant places, so don’t forget about South Brooklyn Open Studios’ southernmost spaces, Stand4 and [PrintSpace](http://www.ellencolemanizzo.com/printspace-workshop-and-bright-spot/1/0?ref=hyperallergic.com) in Bay Ridge.
