The exhibition offers a deep dive into contemporary embroidery practices and encourages visitors to experience embroidery as more than decorative craftwork by revealing its historical depth and contemporary relevance. By merging traditional embroidery techniques with innovative approaches and social/political themes, the artists in this exhibition strive to create powerful narratives that challenge outdated perceptions and elevate textile art to new heights.

The artists featured in the exhibition include Rosemarie Beck, Kim Bennett, Sarah K. Benning, Natalie Ciccoricco, Lucia Engstrom, Elsa Hansen Oldham, Caroline Harrius, Liz Harvey, Nneka Jones, Michelle Kingdom, Lisa Kokin, Stacey Lee Webber, Sophia Narrett, Matthew Pawlowski, Bonnie Peterson, Olga Prinku, Roz Ritter, José Romussi, and Elliot Schultz.
