Founded by five Philadelphia artists in 1974, this international center for ceramics is a vital creative hub where emerging artists shape their careers, young minds shape their imaginations, and where handmade works of art quite literally take shape.

Looking ahead to expanding its impact for new audiences and generations, The Clay Studio is shaping plans for a bigger, broader reach. Motivated by a challenge grant from the Windgate Charitable Foundation, The Clay Studio and its supporters fulfilled the $1 million challenge in December 2017\. “This impactful gift enables us to advance our ambitious plans, and to deepen our vision of uniting creativity and community,” says the Studio’s president, Christopher Taylor.
