Our fall collaboration with the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Department of Modern and Contemporary Art continues on Friday, November 13.

Addressing “radical design geographies,” the two-talk series — part of the Met’s *In Our Time* lectures on architecture and design — will explore the new global realities generated by changes in technology, human migration, and the environment.

Join us on Friday, November 13, at 6pm to hear from curator, writer, and cultural critic Shumon Basar, who will speak about [*The Age of Earthquakes: A Guide to the Extreme Present*](http://www.amazon.com/Age-Earthquakes-Guide-Extreme-Present/dp/0399173862/ref=sr%5F1%5F1?ie=UTF8&qid=1446846420&sr=8-1&keywords=The+Age+of+Earthquakes%3A+A+Guide+to+the+Extreme+Present&tag=hyperallergic-20&ref=hyperallergic.com), an important bookhe co-wrote with Douglas Coupland and Hans Ulrich Obrist (Penguin/Blue Rider, March 2015).

Basar is Commissioner of the Global Art Forum in Dubai, editor-at-large of *Tank* magazine and contributing editor of *Bidoun* magazine, director of the Format program at the AA School, and an advisor to Miucca Prada and the Fondazione Prada, Milan. He has also edited numerous books, including *Translated By, Cities from Zero* and *Hans Ulrich Obrist Interviews Volume 2.*
